My face after my first lesson. |
1. What are you most proud of in your lesson, and why?
- Im mostly proud of how I didn't blank out or have a very long awkward pause during my presentation. As a freshman I would pace a lot during my presentations, and if I forgot something I would just blankly stare trying to remember it. I did however forget one bit of important information, and I accidently repeated a part I already said in its place. However I did not falter too much in that transition and just rolled with the information.
- I would give myself a "P",based on the contract. Based on some of the commendations I received most generally stated how I enunciated well and maintained good eye contact. I also noticed that I wasn't too nervous so my body language was very calm and I felt I did a fairly basic job of engaging my audience. I cited at least one source, however I should have cited more instead of just stating all my information. Considering all this I felt I met the requirements outlined in the contract. I know I didn't go above and beyond, so hopefully after experiencing my first lesson, I can take what worked and didn't work and use it in the future to adapt my next lesson.
- If I could go back I would definitely work on my visuals. Allot of the recommendations I received were on my visuals, not being so great. So next time I will work to improve this and make them neater, as well as flow in a concise manner. I will probably print the text or make a poster board, to allow for this neatness. I will also bring more props and dress as the profession I am researching. Using all the knowledge I gained from the recommendations I know what areas I need to fix and how I can make lesson 2 all that much better.
